Annual physical exam at Empowering Your Wellness in Tallahassee, FL

Medically reviewed by Eula Weaver, APRN-C Updated

A Yearly Check-Up That Looks at the Whole Picture

Most health problems are easier to manage when they're found early, often before you notice anything is wrong. An annual physical at Empowering Your Wellness gives you one dedicated appointment a year to check where your health stands, ask the questions you've been putting off, and leave with a plan.

Your exam is with Eula Weaver, APRN-C, a board-certified Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner who has worked in clinical practice since 2012. Visits aren't rushed, so there's time to talk about sleep, stress, diet and anything else on your mind.

Physical Exam FAQs

Quick answers about annual, work and school physicals at our Tallahassee clinic.

What's included in an annual physical?

Eula checks your vital signs, reviews your medical history and current medications, and does a head-to-toe physical exam. She'll talk through any concerns, recommend screenings for your age and history, and order lab work if you need it. You leave with a clear plan for the year ahead.

How often should adults get a physical?

Once a year works well for most adults. If you're managing a long-term condition such as high blood pressure, Eula may suggest more frequent check-ins.

Do you do pre-employment and work physicals?

Yes. Bring any form your employer gave you so it can be completed during the visit. Commercial drivers who need a DOT medical card should book a DOT physical instead.

Do you do school or sports physicals?

Yes, for students 18 and older. We're an adult-only practice, so we can't see anyone under 18. Bring the school's or team's form with you.

What should I bring to my physical?

  • A photo ID
  • A list of your current medications and supplements, with doses
  • Any recent lab results or records from other providers
  • Your glasses or contacts, if you wear them
  • Any form you need completed (employer, school or sports)

Do I need to fast before my physical?

Only if fasting blood work has been ordered. If you're not sure, call us on (448) 243-5962 before your visit.

Is an annual physical the same as a DOT physical?

No. An annual physical looks at your overall health. A DOT physical is a federal exam for commercial drivers that follows FMCSA rules. Eula is an FMCSA-certified medical examiner, so we offer both. See DOT physicals.

Do you take insurance?

No. We don't bill insurance. Physical exams are part of our Direct Primary Care membership.
